Last night saw the private view of the London Potter’s annual members’ exhibition. It was the first time I had entered work so went along to it all set up. It’s at the Morley Gallery on Westminster Bridge Rd, which glowed like a jewel box with selected works in windows along 2 sides.
Mine were on a shared plinth, alongside Lindy Barletta (who’s work I bought at Fulham) and several others. I developed a new cheese dome for the occasion and made a matching salad bowl and jug to accompany. You can imagine I was very chuffed to get a sale on the opening night.
It’s probably the biggest ceramics exhibition in the country (apparently) with a varied body of works, all good quality. Here’s my top 3.
Lidded jar from John Mahoney
Triple dipped porcelain bowls from Sarah Martin
Rippling dishes, one with additional glass, by Vivenne Rodwell-Davies.
Well worth a visit if you can.
